Summary: Respiratory disease inequitably affects poorer socioeconomic groups and is costly to the NHS. Respiratory teams have the potential to deliver life-saving interventions but those least likely to attend clinic have most to gain. By addressing reasonable adjustments patients are supported to attend, and by embedding prevention great outcomes are achieved.

Statement: Disposable insulin pens generate 60 tonnes of plastic waste and CO2eq equivalent to ~2.5 million car miles annually in England. Statement: The project addresses the growing abuse of topical steroids in India, focusing on the alarming rise of Topical Steroid Damaged Face (TSDF). It aims to raise awareness about the irrational use of potent steroid creams, often sold without prescriptions, and their severe long-term skin damage. The Indian Dermatologists are leading this initiative to curb misuse through education, advocacy, and collaboration with government, healthcare professionals, and the pharmaceutical industry.
Area Being Addressed: The project targets the misuse of topical steroids, particularly for cosmetic purposes like fairness creams, and seeks to combat the widespread consequences of this abuse, including skin damage and dependence. The focus is on educating both the public and healthcare professionals, enforcing regulations, and promoting ethical medical practices.
