Speakers

Chris is special adviser on population health for the Royal College of Physicians. He is an associate medical director at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS trust, practising inner city GP and former director of public health in Nottingham. He has been a member of the RCP’s Health Inequalities Advisory Group since 2021.

Ruw joined University Hospitals Leicester in 2022 as the trust’s first Director of Health Equality and Inclusion. In this role, Ruw leads on the trust’s approach to understanding and addressing health inequalities within our population and ensuring that our services are truly inclusive and accessible. Ruw is also a consultant in Geriatric and General Medicine with clinical interests in frailty, ‘front door’ geriatrics and surgical liaison.

Bnar is a renal physician and co-author of Time To Act: A New Review of Kidney Health Inequalities. She is one of the founding members of Muslim Doctors Cymru, which was formed in 2020 to combat COVID-19 vaccine myths. She later joined Team Halo, a United Nations initiative to combat misinformation and has also volunteered with the British Society for Immunology to create science backed content on vaccines.
